01
The problem
Flux analysis is often done on the accounts someone has time to look at, which means real variances hide in the ones they skipped. Chasing explanations by email after the fact drags out the close and leaves the reasoning scattered across inboxes.
02
How it is built
- 1Schedule trigger runs the analysis ahead of the close review.
- 2ERP block pulls the current and prior trial balance from NetSuite or Sage Intacct.
- 3Code block computes the variance against the prior period for every account.
- 4Condition block flags accounts whose variance exceeds the threshold, by amount and percentage.
- 5Approval block asks each flagged account owner to confirm the number and explain it, so the reason comes back as a recorded comment.
- 6Data Table block captures that explanation against the account, so it is there when the auditor asks.
03
The payoff
Every account is compared the same way, the material movements are flagged by rule, and each explanation is captured where it belongs. The close review starts with the questions already answered.
