Forward Deployed Engineer
Own customer implementations end-to-end — from first call to live automated workflows.
About the role
You'll be the primary technical point of contact for customers: talking to them daily, understanding their finance stack, and translating what they need into working automation. You work Central Time business hours, fully remote, with occasional off-hours coverage for go-lives and escalations.
This role sits between engineering and the customer. You lead implementations, configure and import customer data, and stay accountable for every customer going live. Compensation is a fixed base plus an implementation success fee per customer go-live — your incentives are aligned with shipping quality work, not demos or quotas.
When something breaks in production, you diagnose it, fix it, and feed what you learned back into the product.
What you'll do
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers via Slack, email, and video calls
- Own customer issues from report through diagnosis, resolution, and follow-up
- Lead customer implementations end-to-end — you are accountable for every go-live
- Import and configure all customer data, then validate it against reality
- Translate customer requests into clear technical requirements
- Partner with sales during technical discovery and scoping
- Work day-to-day with core engineers and contribute directly to the codebase
- Feed customer feedback back into product and technical direction
What we're looking for
- 1+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong full-stack fundamentals — comfortable with APIs, integrations, and production systems
- Can debug real customer problems and ship the fix
- Excellent written and spoken English — clear, calm, and trustworthy on customer calls
- High ownership and agency — you follow issues to resolution without being asked
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration
